COVID-19 Omicron Variant Alert:A message from the Governor of Tokyo(January 7th 2022)
The number of COVID cases in Tokyo has been rapidly increasing since the end of last year. The highly infectious Omicron variant has also been detected here in Tokyo.
Basic infection prevention measures are also effective against the Omicron variant. When you go out, please avoid busy times and crowded places. Please properly wear a mask and keep your voice down when talking. And, don’t forget to wash your hands frequently.
In addition, although the cold weather continues, please open the windows to air out rooms.
Those with symptoms such as a cough or fever should promptly see a doctor and refrain from going out.
To prevent the further spread of the virus, free testing is also available for those without symptoms at designated locations.
To the business of Tokyo, please continue to utilize remote work and staggered commuting times. And, please be sure to remind employees to refrain from coming to work when they don’t feel well.
