🌏 Building Stronger Cities Together: G-NETS Working Group in Tokyo

In 2022, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) launched the Global City Network for Sustainability (G-NETS), an international platform where cities can share challenges, exchange solutions, and learn from one another.
Built on the principle of "a network of cities, by cities, for cities," G-NETS brings together city leaders and officials from around the world to collaborate on creating more sustainable, resilient, and livable cities.

🌏 Learning from Tokyo's Experience
In July 2026, Tokyo hosted a G-NETS Working Group attended by working-level officials from cities across the globe. During the program, participants explored some of Tokyo's key initiatives, including:
✅ Emergency medical services and rapid ambulance dispatch systems
✅ Large-scale disaster response and rescue operations
✅ The operational framework of the TMG Disaster Management Center
✅ Urban waste management and recycling systems
✅ Infrastructure and resilience measures that help keep Tokyo safe and secure
Through G-NETS, Tokyo shares its experience and expertise as one of the world's leading disaster-resilient cities, helping other cities strengthen their own preparedness and sustainability efforts.
